…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. – 1 John 3:8
In continuation of our meditation on the coming of Jesus Christ to earth to destroy the works of the devil, it is pertinent to note two things: firstly, there is nothing excluded among the devil’s works that Jesus came to destroy. He came to fix them all with no exception. As long as such phenomenon, be it situation, affliction, or development originates from the devil, Jesus has come and is poised to reverse them with no explanation or apology to the devil. He is Lord over all, the devil included.
Secondly, no matter how long the affliction or untoward development emanating from the devil’s stable might have lasted, it doesn’t really make much difference to Jesus, as He has been empowered by God to right the wrong, restore the loss and repair the damage of many years. He only needs to be invited into the situation and He will get to work doing what He does best.
That’s why He could restore the sight of someone who was born blind (John 9); healed the infirmity of someone who had been crippled for 38 years (John 5:5); raised a corpse that had been buried for four days (John 11); straightened a woman who was bent over and could not walk straight for 18 years (Luke 13); as well as reversed in one fell swoop on the cross all the evils that the devil had visited on humanity for thousands of years!
He is that powerful and effective. But He only reigns in the life He is invited and He works only in the situation that is surrendered to Him. Why not invite Him into your life and surrender your woes to Him right away?
You will succeed in Jesus Name!
