…our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father. – Galatians 1:3-4
This is another purpose of Jesus crystallised for our knowledge and meditation. He came to offer Himself for our sins so that He might deliver us from the evil of this age. This He did in accordance with the will of God. So, God means well for us, and is not interested in afflicting us with evil.
This scripture further acquaints us with the depth of God’s love for us as well as the utilitarian purpose of the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, through which He wrought a great deliverance for humankind by saving our souls from certain death, as well as rescuing us from all the evils associated with the age we live in, and possibly the ones to come.
Are there developments you consider evil in this age? The Bible says Jesus has come to deliver you from them. Therefore, there can be no chance of their overrunning you. Maybe they can if you hadn’t known that insulating you from them was one of the reasons Jesus came to earth; but now that you know, they should not pose the same danger that you once ascribed to them in time of ignorance. Jesus has come to deliver us from all evils.
Considering that He had been performing this deliverance function for some ages now, and is not likely to stop with our age, should make you confident that He is up to the task. Otherwise, His name and abilities would have ceased to be so universally acknowledged.
So cheer up, He’s got you covered, provided you are in alignment with His dictates.
You will succeed in Jesus Name!
