Purpose: Sent to Declare God

No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
– John 1:17
Jesus also came to earth to declare God to us. He came to announce God and shed more light on His personality, His likes and dislikes, His preferences and bias. Before the advent of Christ, a deep knowledge of God wasn’t so widespread and a personal relationship with Him was not universal. Much of the knowing about God then were confined to the weekly sharing in the synagogues of the Jews, and quite a lot of the reasoning about God in other climes were based on speculation.
But upon the arrival of Jesus, He did not just talk at length about the nature of God; He also demonstrated the power of God. He came to remove all the veneers of mystery about God by teaching about Him day and night, offering His listeners unusual insights into the thinking pattern of God, His mode of operations as well as His abilities.
In an era characterised with warfare, conquests and servitude, He came to preach a divine agenda of peace and submission; in a time marked with much oppression and suffering, He came to announce liberty and relief. The picture didn’t look good for many people when He came, neither was the prospect so bright, but He restored hope to many and offered many more an opportunity to live a significant life. Many of those who were vilified and scorned were assured of divine acceptance; numerous people who had given up hope of ever being cured of their diseases were healed and restored to normal living.
Jesus did all these and more while declaring God to the people. Before He bowed out, He empowered many people to carry on the good work, with the signs and wonders of the calling in their wake. Perhaps, you are one of those called to continue in this mandate. There is no way you will proclaim God and you will remain insignificant, so go ahead and fulfil your calling.
You will succeed in Jesus Name!
