Appraise Yourself

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit…and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12

A famous philosopher once said, “An unexamined life is not worth living.” This underscores the need to appraise yourself in the process of becoming better. It takes a dispassionate look at yourself to identify which area you are doing great and where you need to improve.

Technology has given us some tools that could be used for a self-audit and improvement programme. Whilst not discounting the effectiveness of such enhancement tools, the Bible is also a viable tool to achieve this end. It has been used across the ages by people of diverse races, backgrounds and exposures to plough their way out of the rut to the top of their career, business, marriage, among others. A studious practice of its tenets has turned rags to riches and made a nonentity an enviable entity.

The passage above offers some insights on the attributes of the Bible, which contains the Word of God:

It is quick in its effect: There is no dillydallying with the word of God. It wastes no time in offering you the answer you need. The only concern will be the quickness of your own response to its decree.

It is effective in its power. The ability of the word to deliver is acclaimed universally. The Bible has answers for everything.

The word is also able to pierce through a maze of issues to get to the crux of any matter when used to analyze things.

It can discern the motive behind every action; thus helping you to know for sure if such action is genuine or otherwise. The word does all these and more. Why not make it your daily companion and let it guide you to success?

You will succeed in Jesus Name!
