…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. – 1 John 3:8
Here is another reason that Jesus came to earth – He came to destroy the works of the devil. What an awesome agenda!
The devil means no good for us at all. In one passage, he is announced to have come “to steal, to kill and to destroy” (John 10:10). In another instance, he is said to be walking “about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8). In yet another passage, he is described as “the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night” (Revelation 12:10). Those are just few of the agenda of the devil towards us; he kills, steals and destroys what are most precious to us. He is never happy when we are happy or maintain a right standing with God. So he is always throwing a spanner at our wheel of progress so that we can be stagnated or grounded.
But, the passage above offers us a most cheery news: whatever the devil may be up to, Jesus has come to destroy them all. He came to undo all the evil deeds the devil had been perpetrating in the lives of God’s children for many years. He has come to set loose all those held in bondage by the devil; He has come to restore all that the devil had stolen; He has come to resuscitate all that the devil had killed; He has also reverted all that the devil had destroyed in our lives and our affairs.
However, there is a catch to enjoying this restoration works of Jesus Christ; whoever must partake of it must first accept Him as the Redeemer and then accept the fact that He had indeed done all that the Bible states that He did for us. That is the only catch to enjoying the restoration works of Jesus.
You will succeed in Jesus Name!
