But Jeroboam caused an ambush to go around behind them; so they were in front of Judah, and the ambush was behind them. And when Judah looked around, to their surprise the battle line was at both front and rear; and they cried out to the LORD, and the priests sounded the trumpets. They did not sing tunes of distress; the praise instruments of God are not meant for that purpose. They blasted the trumpets in praise. Worship is an acknowledgement of God’s sovereignty; and when you worship Him in the face/midst of troubles you are saying that He remains sovereign and far more important than the issue at hand; hence your giving Him your attention and not the problem that is threatening to wipe you out.
